Project Facts
Shenzhen Chunfeng Highway Tunnel Project is the first “single-bore double-deck” motor vehicle tunnel in Shenzhen to be excavated by TBM. The TBM would be crossing 11 fracture zones, and a 3.6km long rock formation. This project would be one of the most challenging big-diameter TBM projects of its kind. A 15.80m diameter CREG TBM would be applied in this project, and the machine features a total length of 135 meters and an overall weight of 4,800 tons. To guarantee its success, CREG design engineers put forward a number of targeted innovative solutions including atmospheric cutter change technology, telescopic swinging main drive, simplified cutter change procedure, staged double-crusher muck treatment technology, online real-time cutter state monitoring technology, TBM anti-blocking technology in small curve construction and four-circuit air pressure control, etc.
