CREG designed and manufactured a Φ10.5m EPB TBM with active articulation and 180m horizontal radius curve turning capacity to satisfy TBM deviation correction and direction adjustment during tunnelling for Algiers Metro Project, Algeria. This is China’s first TBM exported to African continent. The TBM will be used for construction of Algiers metro extension line from Al Harrach Central Station to Huari Bumaiding Airport Station. With a total length of 9,565 meters, this tunnel will greatly enhance the passenger throughput of the airport and shorten the transit time from Algiers city to airport. The TBM celebrated its FAT in Tianjin, China on January 15th, 2019.
