Introduction: Two CREG Slurry TBMs was adopted for Thomson East-Coast Line, Singapore. CREC 209 successfully bored the first section on November 11th, 2016. The final breakthrough took place in early January 2018.

Thomson East-Coast Line is the 6th Singapore metro line, which runs 30km long. CREC 209 and CREC 210, two slurry TBMs designed and manufactured by CREG were used in the tunnel between Lentor Station to Mayflower Station. To ensure smooth tunnelling in full face soft soil, mixed ground, full face rock and other complex geologies, CREG designers provided optimized tailored designs in cutterhead layout and powerful drive. CREC 209 successfully bored the first section on November 11th, 2016. The final breakthrough took place in early January 2018.
