The 8.03m Hard Rock TBM designed and manufactured by CREG was employed in the Lot 4 of Jilin Yinsong Water Diversion Project. Equipped with integrated multiple system coordination and control technology, high-efficiency rock-breaking cutterhead with non-linear layout and small cutter spacing, with efficient, safe and fast support system and geology forecast/detection with 3D induced polarized probe, this machine has broken through a number of technical difficulties. Since its launching in May 2015, CREC 188 has overcome numerous geological challenges, i.e. karst caves, carbonaceous slate sections, fault fracture zones, extra-large water and slurry inflows, completed the advancing of 8,581 meters, with an average monthly advancing of more than 600 meters, and set a record of 1,314m monthly rate.
