Nanning Metro Line 5 project connects Wuyilijiao Station and Xingyang Station. The anticipated geology includes fine silt sand, silt soil, rounded grain, and argillaceous siltstone. As it would pass Yongjiang River, the chance of massive water ingress is high. To deal with this, CREG provided a 6.3m-diameter Dual-mode EPB-Slurry TBM with air bubble, which could conduct the quick mode shift between EPB and Slurry TBM, and ensure a fast and stable excavation and maintain a precise ground settlement control at the same time. Safety and efficiency are guaranteed meanwhile.
