Following a series of exciting breakthroughs both at home and abroad in the first month of 2018, CREG is pleased to announce that the two 3.5m Gripper TBM exported to Lebanon for Great Beruit Water Supply Project had done a great job in the same month.
The two gripper TBMs CREC 237 and CREC 238 are named Lea and Yasmina respectively by the Client. The peak daily and monthly rates of CREC 238 were 90.1m and 1244.282m respectively. Such excellent results were outperformed by CREC 237 which achieved daily and monthly rates of 96.47m and 1341.871m. In the last week of January, the peak performance of the machine was 450.493m.
CREC 237 made its first breakthrough of Drive 3 (4,130m) in May 2017 and its success then was one year ahead of schedule. Up to now, it has bored 3,789m of Drive 1 (8,100m) and there is another 4,463m left. CREC 238 has bored 10,392.8m of Drive 2 (10.37km), with 531.76m left. The results of the two machines are both far better than the anticipated performances.
