Singapore Senior Minister of State PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE Mr. HENG CHEE HOW announced the winner of the Project of the Year Award (SPMI PoY) 2016-2017 in Engineering & Construction Category: Rectangular TBM supplied by CREG for Trenchless Underpass at TEL T221 Havelock Station. Moreover the project would be summited to the International Project Management Association (IPMA) to compete for the highest level of award.

To answer Singapore’s call of Increasing Productivity, the Land Transport Authority chose the TEL T221 as a pilot project of using a Rectangular TBM following an in-depth feasibility research. CREG’s Rectangular TBM has overcome such technical challenges as shallow overburden, plenty of underground pipelines and obstacles. The machine has not only fulfilled its duty of construction successfully but also sustained a record of zero accidents. During its operation, local governments including Singapore Transport Ministry, Human Resource Ministry, National Defense Ministry and Construction Bureau paid several visits to the jobsite. The impressive performance of this machine drew attention from clients all over the world.
