The past few weeks since the completion of its FAT on 29th August 2016 have been pretty monumental for CREC R73, the gripper Wirth TBM refurbished by CREG. The Stepping Ceremony on 06 February at Da Nhim jobsite featured the 3.9m diameter gripper TBM that will start its digging. The machine will create a tunnel for the Da Nhim Hydropower Plant Expansion project in central Vietnam.

The project contractor CC47 was the first company that used TBM in construction independently in Vietnam and therefore needed plenty of technical support from the very beginning. In response to that, the dedicated service offered by CREG continued from workshop disassembly well into jobsite assembly. CC47 thought highly of CREG’s support and showed great confidence in both the machine performance and the future collaboration.

Attended at the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Luong Am, Chairman of CC47, Mr. Wang Yangpeng, representative of CREG Technical Service Branch, Mr. Franz Ferdinand Stamms, Technical Director of CREG-Germany.
