On 17 August, CREC 152, a slurry TBM supplied by CREG arrived at the reception shaft, concluding a 1,680m tunneling section.

The tailor-made slurry TBM from CREG is applied to right line of Qintai Station to Wusheng Road, lot 10, phase 1 of Wuhan Metro Line 6 commissioned to China Railway First Group Co., Ltd.(CRFG).

The section bored by CREC 152 is located in high-pressure-water-bearing strata under shallow overburden and comprised of densely distributed underground pipelines. The machine has demonstrated excellent geology adaptability. Since its launch on 04 December 2015, the cutters of CREC 152 haven’t been replaced for the duration of tunneling works. Apart from the impressive boring record of 34.5 m in a day and 394.m in a month, it has successfully swept around a sharp bend whose curve radius is as small as 350m.

CREC 152 outperformed the imported TBMs used for the left line of the same section in terms of both boring speed and tunneling efficiency, fully exhibiting the reliable function of domestic slurry TBM, according to Cai Tianbin, Administrative Assistant Manager of the Project Division of Lot 10, Chengdu Metro Line 6, Urban Rail Subsidiary of CRFG.
